MFT are looking for an enthusiastic Consultant Vascular Interventional Radiologist to join our team.
The MFT VIR team provides a full range of interventions to support vascular surgery, major trauma, hepatobiliary surgery, hepatology, urology, paediatric intervention, renal and pancreatic transplant surgery, plastic surgery, cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery including ECMO and heart/lung transplantation. There is a consultant of the day role based at the MRI site, established IR clinics and a nurse led radiology pre‑op service.
The appointee will work alongside the 13 existing Vascular Interventional Radiologists, providing angio lists, support to hybrid vascular operating, MDTs, vascular reporting, VIR consultant of the day role, IR clinic and form part of a two tier 1:8 cross‑city VIR rota.
As well as the two MFT sites, MFT VIR consultants also provide services at Salford Royal Hospital and at the Royal Oldham hospital as part of the vascular service currently based there.
Successful candidates will reasonably be expected to work across multiple sites, in both elective and on‑call settings, in line with the Hub and Spoke model of VIR service delivery and alongside the existing consultants.
