Applications are invited for a full time Consultant in Sedation and Special Care Dentistry to work across the University Dental Hospital, and University Hospital Llandough within the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. This post offers a rare opportunity to shape the strategy for adult special care dental services across primary and secondary care, and to develop a 'Community of Practice' around Special Care Dentistry within the health board area.
Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is recognised as a teaching centre of excellence in a wide range of clinical services.
Applicants must be on the General Dental Council Specialist list in Special Care Dentistry or within 6 months of completion of specialty training in Special Care Dentistry.
The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to collaborate with advice to Cardiff University to help provide high quality education to undergraduates in the areas of Sedation and Special Care Dentistry.
The University Hospital of Wales is a regional and national centre for a number of medical specialties and this role will include opportunities to support the development of networks where medicine and dentistry interface.
