Job description
Overview

Our Energy Business Unit are delivering the backbone of tomorrow's energy grid. We're strengthening our engineering capability to deliver major overhead line (OHL) and transmission projects across the UK. We're now seeking a Construction Manager to manage site delivery across high-voltage transmission schemes.

Responsibilities
  • Manage site delivery for a new build 132Kv substation.
  • Manage and supervise site operatives during the installation of HV electrical systems.
  • Oversee the commissioning and handover phases of the project.
  • Supervise subcontractors and monitor project deliverables.
  • Provide regular progress updates to the Senior Project Manager.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations and National Grid protocols.
  • Manage RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statements) and ensure strict adherence.
  • National Grid accredited SR163 Site Manager
  • TP137/SR163 authorisation (essential)
  • SMSTS certification (essential)
  • First Aid certification (essential)
  • Temporary Works Supervisor certification (essential)

About our Energy business unit

We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators. Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying and jointing of cables (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line work, new build, repair and refurbishment services.
