Job summary

Ginns & Gutteridge Funeral Directors, Loughborough, is seeking a Funeral Service Specialist (Level One) to lead branch operations part‑time (20 hours/week). You will support grieving families with empathy, arrange funerals in line with wishes and legal requirements, and help promote funeral plans within the branch.

This role involves flexible ceremony support, day‑to‑day administration, and building trusted local relationships with suppliers and the community.

Qualifications

• Empathy and ability to support grieving families.
• Experience in customer service, care or admin is beneficial and training is provided.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, comfortable with legal paperwork.
• Proficiency with PC software and internal systems; driving licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support families with empathy, professionalism and attention to detail.
• Arrange funerals that meet family wishes and comply with legal requirements.
• Oversee day‑to‑day branch operations, administration and presentation.
• Build relationships with suppliers, care homes, ministers, celebrants and florists.
• Lead chapel visits and assist with ceremonial duties during peak times.
• Promote funeral plans and contribute to plan sales within the branch.
• Train in Funeral Conducting to assist with ceremonies when needed.
