Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare in the United Kingdom is seeking an empathetic and commercially minded funeral director. The role balances managerial tasks with client relationships and delivers compassionate service to families.

You will work full-time (37.5 hours per week) with core hours 9am–5pm and participate in an on-call rota (1 in 4 evenings and weekends). No prior industry experience is required, and you’ll join a supportive team committed to respectful, professional care.

Qualifications

• Experience in a managerial role and leading teams.
• Ability to manage details accurately and calmly under pressure.
• UK manual driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Make sure client needs, service levels and KPIs are met.
• Be clients' main point of contact; support with the wider team.
• Support funerals - conduct ceremonies, lead the team and carry the deceased when necessary.
• Ensure all regulated work, including planning appointments, is referred to a certified colleague.
• Build and maintain relationships with the team, clients and the community.
