Co-op Funeralcare in Reading is seeking a compassionate team member to support families and manage client relationships. Full-time 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday, with comprehensive training and a competitive salary. The role involves physical duties and adherence to health and safety standards.

You'll use digital systems for documentation and invoicing while helping with funeral plans and maintaining a respectful, welcoming environment for clients and families.

• Good communication skills in writing and speaking.
• Numeracy skills for cash handling, discounts and data entry.
• A keen eye for detail and regulatory compliance.
• Good IT skills and ability to learn new applications.
• Passion for delivering great service and building relationships.
• High levels of empathy, discretion and care.
• Ability to perform physical elements of the role with training provided.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community.
• Assist clients in person and on the phone with family visits and questions.
• Ensure the funeral home is clean, safe, and welcoming, reporting maintenance issues.
• Use digital systems to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Support with regulated work like selling funeral plans and assist with manual handling of coffins and preparation of the deceased.
• Update client management applications with accurate, timely information.
