Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare in Stoke-on-Trent is hiring a Funeral Director. This full‑time role is 37.5 hours per week with an on-call rota, covering Stafford, Leek and Stone. No experience is required, but you should be empathetic, commercially minded and capable of handling sensitive duties with professionalism.

You’ll lead funerals, supervise the team, and ensure regulated work is referred to a certified colleague. A UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Make sure client needs, service levels and KPIs are met.
• Be the client’s main point of contact; support and guide with the wider team.
• Support funerals – conduct the ceremony, lead the team and carry the deceased when necessary.
• Ensure all regulated work, including funeral planning, is referred to a certified colleague.
• Build and maintain relationships with the team, clients and the community.
