Job summary

Co-op Group’s Funeralcare division is hiring for a part-time position in Aberfan. The role involves supporting families, handling client queries, and helping with the preparation and care of the deceased, with full training provided.

Qualifications

• Clear written and spoken communication with clients and colleagues.
• Ability to perform basic calculations and handle cash.

• Good IT skills and ability to learn new systems.
• Comfort with physically moving coffins and assisting with care of the deceased with training.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community.
• Support clients in person and over the phone, arranging family visits and answering questions.
• Ensure the funeral home is clean, safe, and welcoming; report maintenance issues.
• Use digital systems to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Refer regulated work like funeral plans to Funeral Plan Arrangers.
• Assist with manual handling of coffins and care of the deceased as needed.
• Update client records with accurate information to keep systems current.
