Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare seeks team members to support families with compassionate client service, both in person and over the phone, and to manage funeral arrangements with accuracy and care. Training is provided, and staff contribute to a respectful, compliant environment.

The role involves manual handling support, operating digital systems, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and professionalism across the branch.

Qualifications

• No prior funeral industry experience required; full training provided.
• Strong written and spoken communication with clients and colleagues.
• Comfort with basic calculations like cash handling and discounts; accurate data entry.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community.
• Support clients in person and over the phone; arrange family visits and answer questions.
• Keep the funeral home clean, safe, and welcoming; report maintenance issues.
• Use digital systems to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Refer regulated work, like funeral plans, to the Funeral Plan Arrangers.
• Assist with manual handling and care of the deceased; prepare for viewing as trained.
