Job summary

Co-op Group is seeking a part-time Funeralcare Assistant in Camborne. The role involves supporting families, preparing and transporting the deceased, and ensuring a respectful, clean, and welcoming funeral home environment.

Full training is provided, and the team offers a competitive salary, pension, and product discounts. You will work 18.75 hours per week across Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday shifts, with duties including client support, documentation, and basic bereavement-related tasks.

Qualifications

• No prior funeral industry experience required; full training provided.
• Excellent communication and numeracy skills.
• Strong attention to detail and compliance with health and safety standards.
• Ability to use IT systems and devices and learn new applications.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community.
• Assist with preparation, transportation and care of the deceased as required.
• Ensure the funeral home is clean, safe and welcoming, reporting maintenance issues as needed.
• Update client records and manage documentation and invoicing with accuracy.
• Refer regulated work to Funeral Plan Arrangers as required.
• Support with manual handling and viewing preparations.
