Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare in Radcliffe is seeking a part-time Customer Service Assistant to support families and manage funeral arrangements. You’ll build relationships with clients, handle inquiries in person and by phone, and ensure the funeral home is clean, safe, and welcoming.

No prior funeral experience is required as full training is provided. The role involves some physical tasks, the use of digital systems, and occasional reporting; the team offers a competitive salary, a pension, and staff

Qualifications

• Good communication skills for clients and colleagues, in writing and verbally.
• Ability to confidently work with numbers, cash handling, discounts, and invoicing.
• Keen eye for detail and accuracy to follow regulatory policies.
• Proficient with technology devices and systems and quick to learn new apps.
• Passion for delivering great service and building relationships.
• High levels of empathy, discretion and care.
• Ability to perform physical elements of the role, with training provided.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community.
• Support clients in person and over the phone, arranging family visits and answering questions.
• Keep the funeral home clean, safe, and welcoming, and report maintenance issues.
• Use digital systems to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Ensure regulated work, like selling funeral plans, is referred to the Funeral Plan Arrangers.
• Assist with manual handling of coffins and care of the deceased.
• Update client management applications with accurate, timely information.
