Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare is looking for compassionate drivers to join our team. You will collect the deceased from various locations, handle coffins, and drive funeral vehicles with professionalism and respect. Full training and ongoing support are provided, along with the range of Co-op benefits.

You will also manage client records, ensure safety procedures, and maintain the cleanliness of vehicles and equipment. A strong customer-service mindset and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires a full UK manual driving licence.
• No prior funeral industry experience required; full training provided.
• Ability to learn and use a range of technology devices and applications.
• Ability to respond with empathy and professionalism in emotional situations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy to follow policies.

Responsibilities

• Collect the deceased from various locations in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Bear coffins on the day of the funeral and drive funeral vehicles.
• Maintain equipment and vehicle cleanliness.
• Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
• Prepare the deceased in our care for viewings and the funeral.
• Maintain client management applications and keep records up to date.
• Safely lift, carry and move coffins using safe techniques and equipment.
