Gloucestershire County Council’s Bereavement Services is seeking a self-motivated Catering Assistant to support daily operations at the Cemetery and Crematorium. You will prepare and serve food, assist with bookings from funeral directors and the public, ensuring all items are presented to a high standard.

In this role, empathy and excellent communication are essential as you interact with the bereaved in challenging circumstances.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or food service is preferred.
• Ability to interact with the public and bereaved in a respectful manner.
• Clear communication and good customer care skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food and drinks to facilities users.
• Take bookings from funeral directors and the general public (in person and by phone).
• Maintain high presentation standards of all food served.
• Provide compassionate, empathetic customer service in stressful situations.
