A regional health board is seeking a forward-thinking Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) to deliver holistic care in Aberdare, Wales. To deliver evidence based holistic care to clients within the context of a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency community mental health service. To hold a clinical caseload providing comprehensive assessment, care and treatment to clients referred to the Community Mental Health Team in accordance with Part 2 of the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010. Promote a positive working culture, working collaboratively with service users ensuring that their views and ideas are heard and equal. Foster robust, open and positive working relationships with all partners in particular Local Authority and other mental health services and the 3rd sector, ensuring that all partners are treated with dignity and respect. Proactively contribute to the continuing improvement and development of community mental health services, within an environment that welcomes new ideas and listens to everyone. Be guided by broad occupational policies. Frequently work as a lone worker.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidates to become part of a strong, well-established MDT with a clear service user focus and close working partnerships with other health professionals and the local authority.
