Qualifications

  • Must hold a full valid driving licence and have access to a car for business purposes.
  • Experience in venepuncture is advantageous.
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and comfort for service users.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain venous blood samples from patients aged 11+.
  • Label specimen bottles accurately for laboratory transport.
  • Conduct procedures with respect for patient confidentiality.
  • Record information in patient electronic records accurately.
  • Approach patients courteously and explain procedures.
  • Obtain appropriate consent for the procedure.
  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Maintain stock levels for the phlebotomy team.
