Job summary

University of Glasgow is seeking a friendly, customer-focused team member to work at Byres Community Hub on Western Campus. You will be the first point of contact for hub users, welcoming students, staff and visitors and supporting a busy programme of events and bookings.

The role covers front-of-house, operations, hospitality and digital admin, with flexible hours including occasional extended opening times and Saturdays. A Grade 4 salary of £25,804 to £27,319 per year is offered.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience at an equivalent role or Scottish qualification framework level 5/6.
• Understanding of customer service and basic hospitality practice.
• Awareness of health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet Hub users with a professional and inclusive welcome.
• Support daily operations, bookings, and events.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain hygiene standards in kitchen and facilities.
• Coordinate with teams for events and community activities.
• Use university systems for room bookings and scheduling.
