THE EMPLOYER IS: NORTHERN CRICKET UNIONThe Northern Cricket Union (NCU) is the governing body for cricket in the northern region of Ireland, responsible for promoting and developing the game across schools, clubs, and communities.As a Community Cricket Coach, you will assist in the delivery of coaching sessions and participation programmes across the NCU region. This entry-level role provides valuable experience in sports coaching, event support, and community engagement, working as part of an experienced and supportive team.You will be involved in evening and weekend sessions, including Sunday pathway coaching and support for the NCU Indoor League. The role offers the opportunity to develop practical coaching skills, gain recognised training, and make a positive impact on local communities through sport.Applicants would need to pass an Access NI before being finally signed off for any of these rolesSuccessful applicants will receive safeguarding, first aid, and coaching-related training.

Responsibilities
  • Support NCU Development Officers in planning and delivering inclusive cricket coaching sessions in schools, clubs, and community settings.
  • Assist with evening and weekend coaching, including Sunday pathway sessions.
  • Help coordinate and deliver NCU events such as cricket festivals and indoor league fixtures.
  • Prepare and maintain coaching and event equipment, ensuring safe and efficient use.
  • Promote participation opportunities among under-represented groups including women, girls, and people with disabilities.
  • Record attendance and feedback to support programme monitoring and evaluation.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Genuine interest in sport, coaching, or community development.

  • Good communication skills and willingness to learn.
  • Valid Driving Licence.
