Job summary

A vibrant youth engagement organization in Horsham is seeking a dedicated Community Awareness and Youth Engagement facilitator to drive programs that empower young people. The successful candidate will develop and deliver initiatives focusing on mental health awareness, support youth participation, and work closely with community stakeholders. This full-time role requires a diploma in youth work or relevant experience. Passion for youth empowerment and community building is essential.

About the role

An exciting maternity leave opportunity is available at headspace Horsham! We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Community Awareness and Youth Engagement facilitator to develop coordinate and deliver initiatives that inspire educate and mobilize young people.

They will be a champion of youth participation opportunities for young people within our centre and lead the headspace Horsham Youth Reference group known as headspace Wimmera Youth (hWY). You will lead in delivering and supporting community and youth engagement programs raising awareness of mental health and increasing early identification and help -seeking in young people and the community.

About you
You will bring with you :
  • Diploma youth work mental health community services / development or a related field which focuses on community development or substantial relevant experience in a similar field.
  • Practical knowledge of issues faced by young people experiencing mental health and wellbeing challenges and their families.
  • Desired experience in planning developing delivering high quality education training and community awareness programs and activities
  • Experience working with young people experiencing mental health challenges.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills showing an ability and sensitivity to work and engage a variety of different people and stakeholders
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence valid in Victoria
