  • High level of computer literacy (MS Office, Outlook, internet browsers; Salesforce experience desirable).
  • Active interest in open access, open data and open science.
  • Clear written communication and light editing skills required (not a copywriter role).

Job description

As a member of our global Content Acquisition Team the purpose of this Commissioning Editor role is to commission high‑quality article submissions, delivering an ongoing pipeline of published material across a broad scope of Taylor & Francis Medicine and Health journals. The team particularly values applicants with a biomedical sciences background.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct structured analysis of academic fields to identify growth areas and opportunities to drive article submissions.
  • Identify key target researchers and research groups, developing and implementing structured commissioning plans.
  • Commission high‑quality relevant content across the journal portfolio, delivering content within specified timeframes.
  • Build strong networks with researchers through 1:1 discussions, presentations, conference attendance, etc., engaging them in potential Article Collections and submissions to Taylor & Francis journals.
  • Liaise closely with editors, authors and key partners to ensure delivery of the content pipeline.
  • Develop thorough knowledge of Editorial Policies and ensure these are followed at all times.
  • Continually build knowledge across subject areas and develop the profile as a Commissioning Editor.
  • Collaborate with team members to enable flexibility and ensure targets are met.

Location

London, Blackfriars office (240 Blackfriars Rd, London, UK). Candidates must be within commuting distance to attend the office three days per week. Remote work is supported on remaining days.
