Commis Chef – Cardiff Bay (voco St David's Cardiff)

voco St David's Cardiff, a 5‑star hotel on Cardiff Bay, is looking for an enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. You will earn £13.50 per hour (equivalent to £28,080 per year) and work as part of a fast‑paced, service‑focused environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist senior chefs in preparing, cooking and plating a variety of dishes for guests.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen area in line with health and safety regulations.
  • Support the kitchen team in inventory, storage and preparation of ingredients.
  • Follow the hotel’s standard operating procedures, recipes and quality standards.
  • Work as part of a wide hotel team, learning new techniques and supporting kitchen operations.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a chef or an apprenticeship in a hotel or restaurant kitchen.
  • Willingness to learn, train and progress in a dynamic hotel environment.
  • Passion for delivering high‑quality food and excellent guest service.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.
