Commercial Sales Director

Location: Belfast (Hybrid)
Salary: £60,000–£80,000 base + performance bonus
Reporting To: Managing Director

Artemis Human Capital is working exclusively with a fast-growing manufacturing and private-label solutions provider as they recruit a Commercial Director. With expanding production capability and a strong reputation for quality, our client is now investing in its commercial function to drive growth across the UK and Ireland.

Role Overview

We are seeking an ambitious, commercially minded leader to build and scale the company’s new-business function. The role will drive revenue growth across three core service lines.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy
  • Develop and execute the commercial plan for all service lines
  • Create strong value propositions and customer messaging
  • Lead quotations, pricing strategy and negotiations
  • Identify and prioritise profitable market segments
New Business Development
  • Build, manage and convert a strong new-business pipeline
  • Win customers across brands, retailers, distributors and B2B buyers
  • Deliver pitches, proposals and tenders
  • Attend customer meetings, trade shows and industry events
  • Establish recurring and long-term commercial accounts
Leadership of the Marketing Function
  • Set marketing strategy aligned to commercial targets
  • Ensure activities drive qualified leads and brand awareness
  • Oversee catalogues, digital assets, brochures, case studies and outbound campaigns
  • Maintain consistent brand positioning across all offerings
Cross-Functional Coordination

Work closely with internal departments to ensure every opportunity is costed, feasible and ready for production:

  • Procurement – sourcing and costings aligned with machine capability
  • R&D – feasibility checks, formulation support, sampling
  • Technical – manufacturability and machine compatibility
  • Administration – system setup, documentation and onboarding

You will define the commercial approach and set priorities across these functions.

Required Skills & Experience
Essential
  • Proven commercial or sales leadership in B2B manufacturing, chemicals, cosmetics, FMCG or white-label environments
  • Demonstrated ability to build revenue streams from scratch
  • Experience selling multi-offering or service-led solutions
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building ability
  • Ability to lead a marketing function and align activity to revenue
Desirable
  • Existing NI/ROI/UK customer network
  • Knowledge of sourcing, formulation, production and manufacturing processes
  • Background in contract manufacturing or private-label development
