Job description
Overview

We are now recruiting for a Commercial Procurement Analyst at AJ Bell to work within the Commercial team, based in our head office in Salford Quays. The successful candidate will support the Procurement Manager and other business areas, including the Group Finance department, in the management of supplier contracts, cost control and establishment / maintenance of commercial relationships with suppliers.

As the Commercial Procurement Analyst, the successful candidate will be able to work independently using their own initiative, whilst working collaboratively with colleagues at all levels (up to and including Executive Management Board members) across the business and with external partners.

What you'll be doing
  • Assessing and analysing existing and potential group suppliers.
  • Establishing and developing external commercial relationships.
  • Reviewing and negotiating existing, new and renewal contracts.
  • Information Assurance in relation to supplier contract documentation.
  • Assisting in control of the Group's external cost base.
  • Assisting in control of the Group's third-party supply risk.
  • Liaising with Cost Centre managers in respect of contract management and cost control.
What we're looking for

Required:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Part CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) qualified and working towards full CIPS qualification.
  • At least 3 years relevant experience working within a procurement role.
  • Experience of direct engagement with external partners /suppliers on commercial and contractual matters.
  • Fully qualified CIPS membership.
  • Experience of working in a Financial Services procurement role.
  • Experience of IT procurement / contract management.
  • Supervisory / management experience.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise workload.
  • Ability to work independently and also with internal stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of commercial contract and risk management principles.
  • Knowledge and practical application of negotiation principles, recognised procurement models and contract management software systems.
