Job description

We're currently seeking experienced and ambitious Commercial Practitioner/Commercial Officer professionals to work with our client in a secure environment, supporting challenging projects.

This contract role requires security clearance prior to assignment, with opportunities in Milton Keynes.

You will work across various internal projects and teams, cultivating relationships, determining workflows, and creating commercial solutions. You will also support commercial activities through policy creation, audits, and data analysis to inform decision-making. You will have the chance to showcase your skills on unique projects.

You should demonstrate responsiveness, efficiency, and professionalism, supporting team members at all levels, and working closely with customers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services aligned to requirements. You will oversee contract delivery, monitor KPIs, and drive cost reductions. Your role involves requirements capture, tendering, contract management, and applying high commercial standards, requiring strong influencing, negotiation, and operational skills.

People skills are essential to be a role model, share knowledge, and mentor others. An enthusiastic approach to challenges and problem-solving is expected to identify opportunities and enhance customer offerings.

Your qualifications, experience, skills, and behaviors:

As a top commercial professional, you will have:

  • Experience in procurement and supplier management
  • Experience in contract management, sourcing, commercial operations, supply chain, invoicing
  • Strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues
  • Knowledge of category management for efficiencies and savings
  • Ability to prioritize in complex environments

Ideally, you also have:

  • Experience in purchasing, bill management, and contract creation & management
  • Commercial experience in technology or digital sectors

You will:

  • Hold or be willing to attain a professional qualification like CIPS (Level 5) or equivalent
