Role: Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager

Location: Close to Romford, Essex - You will need to be a car driver due to the location

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Contract Type: 12-Month Fixed Term

About the Role

A rapidly growing passive fire protection company is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to join their commercial team on a 12-month fixed-term contract - (may be extended due to growth). This role is pivotal in managing the financial and commercial performance of multiple projects, ensuring accurate reporting and supporting operational teams.

Responsibilities

Enquiry Management

  • Collaborate with operations to assess work requirements and costings
  • Maintain client relationships and support business development
  • Liaise with the Commercial Director on future opportunities

Financial Management

  • Prepare monthly valuations and applications in line with client schedules
  • Oversee invoicing and resolve account queries with credit control and operations
  • Ensure accurate financial documentation across all projects

Commercial Reporting

  • Produce and maintain monthly CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations)
  • Track labour and material costs against project value
  • Maintain and update payment trackers
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager in construction or fire protection
  • Strong understanding of commercial processes and financial reporting
  • Proficient in cloud-based systems and digital documentation
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
