The ideal candidate will have a degree in Civil Engineering, at least 10 years of relevant experience, and strong skills in managing teams and commercial strategies. Qualifications

  • 10 Years’ Experience in Civil Engineering working on highways, structures and infrastructure.
  • RICS qualification is preferable.
  • Experience of developing and promoting commercial KPIs.

Responsibilities

  • Work on projects worth up to £100m within the Civil Engineering team.
  • Review all commercial plans to deliver maximum margin.
  • Manage and mentor a team of Quantity Surveyors and other staff.

A Regional civil engineering Contractor with an annual turnover of over £600m are currently working on a Multi- Million pound scheme in the midlands region are seeking an established Commercial Manager / Lead.

The successful candidate will be working on projects worth up to £100m within the companies award winning Civil Engineering team.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree Qualified in Civil Engineering or similar
  • 10 Years’ Experience in Civil Engineering working on highways, structures and infrastructure
  • Experience of working in schemes worth £20M +
  • Providing advice and guidance
  • Review all commercial plans to deliver maximum margin
  • You should preferably be RICS- qualified
  • The ability to effectively use Microsoft Office and other relevant software is a must
  • Coaching skills are fundamental to this management role
  • Profound NEC, JCT Contract Experience
  • Contractual advice to the tendering process
  • Improvement of commercial procedures
  • Appraisal & Objective setting
  • Manage the monthly commercial audit process

Person Specific:

  • Experience of developing and promoting commercial KPIs is a must
  • You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the development and implementation of procedure
  • You will have the proven ability to manage a team of Quantity Surveyors, costing staff and project planners
