Commercial Manager

Up to £100,000 + Car allowance (£5,800) + 10% performance bonus

Duties
  • Provide monthly reports to the Operations team and Senior Management team.
  • Ensure all commercial processes for the contract are fit for purpose, efficient, and compliant with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage the performance and development of the commercial team, inspiring positive staff morale and accountability.
  • Oversee contract management with supply chain partners, ensuring clear and manageable agreements.
  • Lead the team in developing accurate works estimates.
  • Support final accounting with the client and supply chain partners.
  • Ensure commercial management and reporting are correctly implemented in conjunction with operational and contract managers.
  • Monitor budgets, ensure financial certainty, and challenge operational teams on monthly results.
  • Understand and apply tender structures and strategies.
  • Identify and notify Early Warnings and Compensation Events, maintaining the relevant registers and logs.
  • Support divisional leadership in developing and maintaining the contract Risk and Opportunity Register.
  • Produce management reports for senior leadership meetings.
Person Specification
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a commercial role, with at least 2 years in management.
  • Experience in highways maintenance or a related civil engineering field.
  • Proven experience managing overall contract performance.
