A recognized tier 1 contractor in Enfield is seeking a Commercial Manager to oversee a £120M infrastructure project. Responsibilities include managing commercial activities, ensuring effective procurement, and maximizing cash flow. Ideal candidates will have a formal qualification in quantity surveying or commercial management and experience with NEC contracts. Competitive salary of £70-£87k plus car allowance offered.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience managing commercial activities across multiple infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working on NEC contracts.
  • Chartered or working towards chartership is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in project commercial start up procedures.
  • Line management of the regional commercial team.
  • Procure materials and off site services according to client's policy.
  • Prepare work package contents sheets and ensure team contributions.
  • Ensure inclusive invitations to tender and complete evaluations.
  • Promote supply chain improvements in cost and quality.
  • Maximise cash flow via timely valuations and invoicing.
  • Manage final accounts, including variations and claims.
  • Develop strategies for client negotiations.
  • Review plant and equipment schedules for efficiency.
  • Produce CVR reports and forecasts.

Overview

Anderselite are working with a well known tier 1 contractor who are seeking a Commercial Manager to join their Civils division.

Role: Commercial Manager

Location: Enfield

Salary: £70-£87k + car/car allowance £5250 pa

This £120M project involves the remediation of the existing site and construction of roads, bridges and flood mitigation measures as well as electricity, gas, communications, water connections and hectares of new landscaped parkland areas.

Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in the implementation of project commercial start up procedures across the region
  • Line management of the regional commercial team
  • Ensure that materials and off site services are procured in an efficient manner with capable organisations in accordance with the client's procurement policy and ensure appropriate records are kept
  • Prepare the basis of work package contents sheets and ensure the project team contribute and complete their relevant sections
  • Ensure inclusive invitations to tender are prepared and full tender evaluations are completed. Make recommendations to award, procurement process
  • Work with supply chain to promote and measure continuous improvement in terms of cost, quality and learning of all parties
  • Maximise cash flow through timely preparation of valuations, submission of invoices and receipt of payment
  • Manage prompt preparation and settlement of final accounts, including variations, claims and disputes
  • Develop a strategy for concluding client negotiations
  • Review plant and equipment schedules to ensure efficiency of use
  • Produce accurate and timely CVR reports and forecasts and contribute toward the setting of financial targets
  • Identify early project risks and opportunities and ensure that they are managed
Qualifications
  • Formal qualification in quantity surveying or commercial management
  • Previous experience managing commercial activities across multiple infrastructure projects at any one time
  • Experience working on NEC contracts is essential
  • Chartered or working towards chartership is advantageous
