Commercial Manager Belfast £75-80k

Inform3 and recruiting for a Commercial Manager to join a busy Civils Contractor based in Belfast.

As the Commercial Manager you will provide comprehensive pre-contract and post-contract commercial management for a growing portfolio of contracts that requires a strong procedural approach to deliver value for money.

To succeed in the role you will have experience operating within technical, business critical and politically complex environments which demand a high level of technical competence and commercial experience. You will have a degree-level qualification, ideally in Quantity Surveying, and have financial acumen with an ability to analyse complex data and documentation with accuracy and negotiate terms.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the commercial aspects across a portfolio of projects
• Prepare and review scheme financial appraisals for bids and site purchases
• Negotiate build contracts with contractors through to completion
• Update financial appraisal once schemes are acquired for forecasting and budget purposes
• Assist in the preparation of estimates for new business bids
• Review and negotiate final cost sums for inclusion in contracts
• Negotiate derogations with the agreements
• Make recommendations on the appropriate form of build contract to use

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working in a similar role ideally within the Civils Sector
• Relevant professional qualifications (preferred but not essential)
• Excellent proven commercial and contractual acumen
• Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities with clear communications
• Payment and commercial management (forecasting to assurance post-receipt)
• Quantity Surveying
• Project/Programme Management
