Job description
Overview

Description: Are you interested in a pivotal role shaping the optimal healthcare ecosystem that our customers can access for support with their healthcare? We are launching two Commercial Lead roles at AXA Health.

Working with the Head of Healthcare Design and Performance and the wider Commercial team, you will be responsible for managing initiatives and supporting oversight of the cost, quality, and outcome effectiveness of the end-to-end healthcare our customers take. You will design, drive, and manage a range of activities. You will ensure effective systems are in place to monitor end-to-end quality and value of healthcare in a range of specialties (including musculoskeletal (MSK) and surgical specialties, digital and primary care, and medical specialties and oncology). Relevant clinical experience is preferred, but the most important requirement is clear experience of delivering impact in a similar or directly transferable role.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You will work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. Flexible working arrangements can be discussed with Talent Acquisition.

What you\'ll be doing
  • Lead strategic design and continuous improvement of condition-specific healthcare journeys, aligning with AXA Health goals of managing claims spend inflation and enhancing healthcare outcomes.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to healthcare specialty and journey effectiveness, cost management, and patient outcomes, using data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Identify, select, and plan cost management initiatives within specific healthcare specialties which contribute to controlling healthcare spending, ensuring these initiatives are evidence-based and aligned with best practices in the industry.
  • Develop and utilise deep subject matter and research expertise to design and implement end-to-end healthcare pathways that ensure seamless patient experiences and optimal clinical outcomes, while effectively managing transitions between care settings.
  • Manage and facilitate the process of change in healthcare delivery, working alongside the transformation, operations, and other teams, ensuring stakeholder engagement and change is communicated effectively to minimise disruption and enhance adoption.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of developments in the UK and global healthcare ecosystem, leveraging knowledge to inform strategic decisions and identify opportunities for innovation in service delivery.
  • Oversee and manage initiatives in priority condition areas, focusing on designing comprehensive strategies that enhance healthcare outcomes while ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality of care.
  • Act as business lead for non-clinician, non-facility healthcare supplier relationships, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment with external partners to support the delivery of healthcare journeys.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to report on the progress of initiatives, share insights, and foster collaboration, ensuring transparency and alignment with organisational objectives.

Note: Due to the high volume of applications, AXA Health may close the advert earlier than the listed closing date to manage interest. If you are interested in joining AXA Health, please apply.

What you\'ll bring
  • Experience in constructing and delivering healthcare journeys using both clinical and operational skills, through partners to a health insurer, improving operational performance.
  • Relevant experience in performance management of operational teams, commercial partnerships, clinicians, or suppliers in one or more healthcare domains.
  • Specific and deep expertise in at least one major area of healthcare.
  • Ability to lead significant strategic initiatives and change programs in complex environments with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to guide and support analysts to design, deliver, and interpret complex data sets.
  • Expertise in leading and managing multi-disciplined teams and projects.
  • Relationship management, influencing, networking and presentation skills.
  • Awareness of the regulatory and compliance environment affecting both processes and people.
  • As a precondition of employment, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime, which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
