About the role

Balfour Beaty (Urban Fox) has an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Contracts Manager to join our growing team.

As a Commercial Contracts Manager lead the negotiation and management of delivery schedules within Urban Fox's contracts for on-street EV charging infrastructure, ensuring robust commercial oversight and supplier performance. This role is ideal for someone with proven commercial delivery experience, ready to take on a new challenge in the fast- growing EV charging sector.

What you'll be doing
  • Negotiate main delivery schedules and milestones in contracts with installation
    and maintenance contractors.
  • Ensure delivery schedules are realistic, achievable, and aligned with operational
    capabilities and client expectations.
  • Maintain a central contract register with version control and audit readiness.
  • Integrate delivery schedules into project plans and monitor progress in
    collaboration with the Head of Delivery.
  • Oversee commercial aspects of project delivery, including supplier performance,
    cost control, and risk management.
  • Prepare and present commercial data for delivery and commercial leadership.
  • Monitor supplier performance against agreed schedules, KPIs, and SLAs.
  • Escalate issues and support resolution of delivery challenges.
  • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure contract alignment
    with payment schedules and project delivery.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to delivery and commercial obligations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation (CDM, IR35, Modern Slavery Act)
    and Balfour Beatty governance
Who we're looking for
Essential:
  • Demonstrable experience managing commercial delivery in infrastructure,
    construction, utilities, or related sectors.
  • Strong track record of negotiating delivery schedules and milestones within
    contracts.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with public sector procurement and local authority contracting.
  • Ready to apply commercial delivery expertise in the EV charging sector.
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of EV charging infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
  • Experience with NEC, JCT, or bespoke contract forms.
  • Experience with Balfour Beatty systems and working practices.
  • Professional qualification (e.g. RICS, CIPS, IACCM) or working towards
    accreditation
