Job summary

Qualifications

  • Ideally 3 years post-graduate Quantity Surveying experience, airport baggage experience preferred.
  • Experience in building complex costing spreadsheets.
  • Understanding of NEC contract suite and contract mechanism.
  • Dealing with sub-contractors and the management of their contracts.
  • High level of commercial awareness.
  • Baggage handling projects awareness.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting the Commercial Manager on all commercial and contractual aspects on the BUK Airport projects.
  • Awareness of the management of the NEC4 contract to deliver the project financials to planned targets and to support the Commercial Manager and capture all changes and delays on the project to ensure cost reimbursement under the contract.
  • Support the application for payments to the client and any subcontractors to manage and optimise the cashflow.
  • Support the PMS reporting requirements to the customer.
  • Liaise effectively with counterparts on the clients side (and any subcontractors) to ensure timely closure of all points and issues on the contract (including the change management process)
  • Awareness of project budgets and internal / external reporting requirements as necessary.
  • Liaise effectively with other BEUME locations engaged on the project and manage internal relationships
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Change Management collation completion and agreement of applications for payment managing sub-contractor accounts collating information for project reporting assisting administration of project budget
  • Preparation and management of the project budget
  • Management of subcontractors in line with their terms and conditions including assessments of application of payments and all other reporting requirements
  • Value and agree the cost of any variations both to customers and from subcontractors
  • Estimate build up costs for each element of the work identify labour material requirements and source and obtain quotations where applicable
  • Understanding of and supporting the commercial and contract management of the airport projects
  • Taking responsibility for the financial management of projects with support and guidance from the Commercial manager to include earned value and all reporting to the customer
  • Cross border relationships with other BEUMER hub companies
  • Protecting / maximising BEUMER returns on the projects
Qualifications
  • Degree level qualification in Quantity Surveying
  • NEC suite of contracts preferred
Experience
