Overview

CNC Turner – Setter Operator required for a growing Aerospace Precision Engineering / Manufacturing company located near Camberley, Surrey. The role involves setting and operating CNC turning centres, with potential for machine-side editing and familiarity with conversational systems. The successful candidate will work on a range of materials using machines including Mazak and Fanuc controls.

Location: Camberley area. Salary: £14 to £20 per hour. Hours: 7.30 to 16.30 Monday to Thursday (30 minutes lunch); 7.30 to 12.30 Friday (no lunch) – 39-hour week. Commutable from Camberley, Yateley, Reading, Basingstoke, Woking, Aldershot, Guildford. Plenty of overtime available at time and a half.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • CNC setting and operating experience – 2-axis turning centres.
  • Knowledge of CNC programs (Fanuc as well as some Mazatrol or conversational).
  • Accomplished setting and proving skills.
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings.
  • Good knowledge of materials, speeds, feeds, cutters, etc.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments (micrometers, verniers, etc.).
  • Ability to work to a high degree of complexity and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritise.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Familiarity with aerospace quality systems.
  • Familiarity with mill/turn machines, Y-Axis and/or sub-spindle.
