Overview

We're seeking a skilled CNC Turner for our client to set up, program, and operate CNC lathes handling large and complex cylindrical components. The successful candidate will play a key role in manufacturing precision parts at scale, ensuring exceptional quality and efficiency in high‑demand industrial applications.

Hours

Shift Patterns: 6am-2.30pm / 7.30am-4pm

Salary

From £14ph-20ph DOE

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC turning machines to produce long shaft components (up to 10 meters in length).
  • Machine components to tight tolerances, ensuring high precision and quality.
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Use steady rests for stability when machining long shafts and complex parts.
  • Conduct in-process inspections, including using ultrasonic wall thickness gauges to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborate effectively with the production team to meet deadlines and optimize workflow.
  • Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC machinery to ensure continuous operation.
  • Follow all health, safety, and company policies and procedures.
