CNC Programmer/Operator - Day Shift

Location: Blackburn (BB1 2JU)

Shift: Days – Mon‑Thu 07:30‑16:30, Fri 07:30‑12:30 (39 hours)

Pay: Up to £20.00/hour DOE

Holidays: 25 days per year

Overtime: x1.3 Mon-Fri, x1.5 Sat, x2 Sun

Pension: 5% employee / 3% employer

Headcount: Hiring 2-3 on days

Role overview

Program at the machine from drawings, set and operate CNC machinery to deliver conforming parts efficiently. You'll own first-off, in-process checks and documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement on tooling and methods.

You’ll work with
  • Controls: Heidenhain, HAAS, Mazak, or FANUC (on-machine programming essential)
  • Materials: varied, including alloys
  • Work types: batch production and one-offs
Key responsibilities
  • Program at the control from drawings; set and operate to spec
  • Select tooling/workholding; optimise feeds, speeds and methods
  • Produce first-off and in-process inspection; maintain tight tolerances
  • Complete clear job records and handovers
  • Support housekeeping, 5S and safe working practices
