Job Overview

CNC Setter Operators (Millers & Turners) required for expansion at this exceptional sub‑contract precision engineering company. Day Shift or night shift roles available; nights are Monday‑Thursday 5 pm‑5 am.

The company produces complex, high‑precision components for industries including Formula One, aerospace and military applications, machining a wide range of metals to extremely tight tolerances. If you’re a machinist who wants to work with the best new equipment and resources on complex parts, this is the opportunity you’ve been looking for.

You will join the CNC machining team as either a CNC Miller or CNC Turner (Setter/Operator), depending on your background.

CNC Millers (Heidenhain)
  • Set and operate CNC milling machines running Heidenhain controls (cross training can be provided).
  • Load programmes, set tools and make offset adjustments as required.
  • Machine complex components from a variety of metals to tight tolerances.
  • Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and work to customer specifications.
  • Carry out first‑off and in‑process inspection using standard measuring equipment.
CNC Turners (Fanuc)
  • Program, set and operate CNC lathes running Fanuc controls.
  • Load programmes, set tooling and adjust offsets to achieve correct dimensions.
  • Produce high‑precision turned components in a range of metals.
  • Work to tight tolerances and complex geometries from detailed drawings.
  • Perform first‑off and in‑process inspections, maintaining quality throughout the batch.
General Responsibilities (both disciplines)
  • Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy and right‑first‑time output.
  • Work closely with production, programming and quality teams.
  • Keep machines and work area clean, safe and well organised.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and cycle times.
