About the Role

Due to continued growth within our Firth Vickers Engineering business unit we are looking for an experienced Quality Inspector (CMM) to join our precision engineering team. Reporting to the contracts and Quality Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards through detailed inspection, documentation, and collaboration with other departments to improve productivity and quality performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify product requirements and provide measurement and process control support.
  • Perform supplier incoming inspections and maintain accurate results records.
  • Conduct non-conforming parts analysis and support root cause investigations.
  • Maintain quality system documentation and inspection records.
  • Inspect products using manual gauging tools and CNC CMM.
  • Complete detailed inspection reports based on marked drawings.
  • Carry out Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) on quality equipment.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in metrology and GD&T, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in manual inspection using standard measurement tools (e.g., height gauge, shadowgraph, vernier caliper, micrometres).
  • Ideally have at least 2 years’ experience operating CNC CMM machines.
  • Experience using surface finish test equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation, and discipline in following quality processes.
