Job summary

JD Gyms is seeking an Assistant General Manager in the East Midlands to lead a team of Fitness Coaches and General Assistants, drive membership growth and revenue, and uphold the high JD Gyms standards. You will work closely with the General Manager to deliver exceptional member experiences and safe, well-run facilities.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing colleagues within a leisure, fitness, hospitality or customer-focused environment.
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to delivering excellent member service and effective leadership with coaching abilities.
• Must be qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook.
• Maintain JD Gyms Brand Standard.
• Conduct safety checks and report defects to keep building and equipment safe.
• Recruit and manage Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to cover daily operations.
• Hold regular team meetings for development and updates.
• Support achievement of membership, revenue and commercial targets.
• Drive secondary spending revenue.
• Ensure gym facilities are clean and well maintained.
• Oversee weekly banking to minimize wastage and maximize profit.
• Maintain uniform standards among all staff.
• Deliver outstanding member service through positive, professional interactions.
• Foster a positive, supportive working environment and align with JD Gyms values.
• Represent JD Gyms values in interactions with members and colleagues.
