Job description
Overview

De Cham is a 28 bedded mixed medical ward; 8 of these beds will be gastroenterology, and the remaining beds can be any general medicine of variable age.

Responsibilities
  • Provide delegated clinical procedures such as insertion/removal of cannula, venepuncture, wound assessment and simple dressings.
  • Removal of urinary catheter. Training will be provided.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team; contribute to a supportive atmosphere and clinical supervision on the ward.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of GCSE English and Maths grade C/4 or Functional Skills in English/Maths.
  • Care Certificate and/or NVQ2 in health and social care or equivalent.
Additional Information

You must be able to work as part of a team, use your own initiative with effective interpersonal and communication skills, and be motivated to high standards of patient care and personal/professional development. Successful applicants will complete an Induction course including Trust statutory/mandatory training. The ward offers mentorship and clinical supervision, and is committed to professional development.
