Clinical Psychologist Adult ASD Assessments

We are seeking a suitably qualifiedand HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist to conduct comprehensiveadult ASD assessments. The role involves face-to-face assessments nearEpping, with flexibility for remote scoring, formulation, and report writing.

Thispost is ideal for an experienced clinician who values high diagnostic standardsand compassionate, neuro-affirmative practice

Main duties of the job

Clinical Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive adult ASD diagnostic assessments in line with NICE guidance and best practice.
  • Use recognised diagnostic tools and frameworks (e.g. ADOS-2, ADI-R, clinical interviews, collateral histories).
  • Complete detailed developmental histories and psychosocial assessments.
  • Formulate diagnostic conclusions and provide clear, evidence-based feedback to patients.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Produce high-quality, timely diagnostic reports suitable for clinical, occupational, and statutory use.
  • Ensure reports meet professional, ethical, and organisational standards.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records in line with GDPR and HCPC requirements.

Multi-Disciplinary Working

  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, therapists, and administrative staff.
  • Contribute to MDT discussions where required.
  • Liaise with referrers and other professionals as appropriate.

Governance & Quality

  • Adhere to HCPC standards of proficiency and professional conduct.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ASD assessment best practice.
  • Participate in clinical audits, peer review, and supervision as required.

    We are seeking an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist to deliver high-quality adult Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnostic assessments within a progressive neurodevelopmental service near Epping, Essex. The role involves conducting face-to-face assessments, using recognised diagnostic tools (e.g. ADOS-2), completing developmental histories, and producing clear, evidence-based diagnostic reports. There is flexibility for remote scoring and report writing. The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, adhering to NICE guidance, HCPC standards, and neuro-affirmative, patient-centred practice. Flexible sessional or part-time arrangements are available, with scope to increase.
