A healthcare organization is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Persistent Pain Management to provide expert care in multi-disciplinary teams. The role involves working independently with patients experiencing complex pain conditions. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in pain management, possess a relevant nursing degree, and be able to work flexibly across different sites including Abergele Hospital. Clinical Nurse Specialist, Persistent Pain Management, Band 7, Maternity Cover Post (end date: 06/02/2027). 18hrs per week pro rata.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7, Clinical Nurse Specialist within the Persistent Pain Management Service within Central BCUHB. The post will be based in Abergele Hospital, however, the post-holder will be required to run clinics at other sites across the central service, currently including: Rhyl and Deeside.
We are seeking to appoint a highly experienced nurse with Pain Management experience to act as an expert resource whilst facilitating the development of the Persistent Pain Service. The successful applicant will provide expert care and knowledge for patients experiencing Persistent Pain within the Outpatient setting. They will be expected to work autonomously with an individual case-load as well as working collaboratively within a small friendly multidisciplinary team, including Pain Consultants, Psychologists, Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapists. Experience of group working would be beneficial. The post offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for the post-holder to develop Continued Professional Development with support and training being provided by the multidisciplinary team.
Clinical
Required to: Actas a consultative specialist resource for Persistent Pain management and link in with all members of the health care team within the trust and primary health care team.
Communication .
Required to: Develop effective communication strategies to enable inter-disciplinary working involving highly complex information and be able to manage significant barriers.
Research
The postholder will: Lead, supervise and support multidisciplinary audits in the field of Persistent Pain management.
Education
Required to:
Educate patients (and their family) on management of their pain and techniques used to control their pain on a daily basis.
