Overview

Spectrum is seeking a motivated Clinical Practitioner to join the Barnsley Integrated Sexual Health Service. We are a dedicated team with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based sexual health care.

Main duties of the job

Working within Integrated Sexual Health as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to patients with diverse sexual health and contraception needs. Focus on promoting a positive attitude towards sexual health, fostering open communication, and reducing stigma.

• Providing expert clinical care, advice, and support to patients on sexual health concerns, including STIs and contraception options.
• Educating patients on safe sex practices, prevention of STIs, and effective use of contraception.
• Advocating for an informative approach to sexual health to empower patients to take control of their wellbeing.
• Working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care.
• Staying current with the latest research and guidelines to ensure evidence-based care.
• Providing a confidential and non-judgmental environment, taking into account lifestyle, sexual orientation, and cultural aspects.

Qualifications and Experience

• Formal qualifications from the BASHH and the FSRH.
• Experience in contraception (including LARC) and sexually transmitted infection management.
• Consideration for applicants who have completed the FSRH Diploma or the BASHH STIF qualification.
• Ideally, completion of a non-medical prescribing course, or willingness to undertake this.
