Job Description

Clinical Leader (Theatres) – Newcastle Hospital; Nursing – Permanent contract – Full time. Salary up to £48,000 per annum depending on experience, 37.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job
  • Conduct and organize the Clinical/ Surgical and Endoscopy team within theatre, including smooth running of theatre lists, organizing booking forms and assisting sessions in theatres.
  • Work collaboratively and flexibly across the theatre suites to accommodate service demands of each department (Endoscopy, General, Orthopedics, Gynae).
  • Promote effective clinical risk management and governance (safety, risk management, quality improvement, policies and procedures) to enhance patient care and service delivery.
  • Have extensive knowledge required for audits and equipment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of surgical techniques and associated equipment.
  • Have ample opportunities for continuous growth and personal development, including Surgical First Assist training.

We are a leading private hospital with a Good CQC rating, 27 en‑suite private bedrooms, 3 operating theatres, a dedicated breast care unit, on‑site pathology services, CT and MRI imaging, and physiotherapy specialists. Our special focus is orthopaedics, spinal surgery, ophthalmology, weight loss surgery and cosmetic treatment.

Qualifications
  • Registered with the appropriate governing body and have the relevant qualifications and post‑registration in surgery/anaesthetics experience, including as a Registered Nurse or HCPC Registered Operating Department Practitioner.
Experience
  • Post registration in surgery/anaesthetics experience.
