A large healthcare organization seeks a Locum Appointment for Training in the medicine for the elderly department in Scotland. This role involves full clinical responsibilities and requires Full GMC registration, competency in Advanced Life Support, along with a strong focus on elder care and internal medicine. Successful applicants will start on February 4, 2026, for a fixed term of 12 months, with varied shift patterns including nights and weekends.

We have one LAT (Locum Appointment for Training) post available at STR level to commence on the 4th February 2026 for one year.
This post is in the medicine for the elderly department for South Glasgow. On calls include night shifts and weekend /evening working based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Gartnavel Hospital.
Daytime work includes covering the acute receiving unit, ward rounds on acute assessment and rehabilitation wards and outpatient experience in frailty clinics.
The role is 100% clinical. Full GMC registration as Medical Practitioner essential. Completion of IMT 3 or demonstration of equivalence essential. MRCP (UK) passed. Valid UK Resuscitation Council Advanced Life Support qualification essential. Interest and experience in medicine for older adults and general internal medicine is essential.
