A leading hospital in the UK is offering a 12-month Fellowship in the Gynaecology Outpatient Diagnostic and Treatment Unit. This role is designed for candidates at ST3 level and above, focusing on early pregnancy and acute gynaecological problems. The Fellow will gain extensive experience in gynaecological ultrasound and outpatient surgical procedures, while participating in elective and emergency outpatient clinics. Applications are invited for a 12‑month Fellowship in the Gynaecology Outpatient Diagnostic and Treatment Unit, within the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Wing of University College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The unit is a nationally and internationally recognised tertiary referral centre and research unit for scan‑based gynaecology.
Post is available from October 2025.
Designed for candidates at ST3 level and above who wish to obtain comprehensive experience in the diagnosis and management of early pregnancy and acute gynaecological problems, and to acquire high‑level skills in gynaecological ultrasound. The candidate will also have the option of working towards the RCOG Special Interest Training Module in Complex early pregnancy and non‑elective gynaecology.
Based in the Gynaecology Diagnostic and Outpatient Treatment Unit (Clinic 3), the Fellow will see and assess patients attending a number of different clinics, including booked and walk‑in early pregnancy patients, acute gynaecology patients, suspected gynaecological cancer patients, general gynaecology patients and endometriosis patients requiring ultrasound assessment. The Fellow should demonstrate diligence, kindness, effective team‑working and a willingness to learn.
The successful candidate will demonstrate energy, enthusiasm, a ‘can‑do’, flexible attitude and commitment to the work schedule, and will excel in working effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
We expect the Fellow to develop independent skill in surgical management of miscarriage under local anaesthesia (MVA) and outpatient hysteroscopy.
