Job description
Job Overview

Our Consultant team has recently been expanded and we are recruiting one additional Senior Clinical Fellow for the Tier 2 Obstetrics and Gynaecology Service. The role will support the rota commitments, provide clinical and administrative duties, and enhance the level of support for the Tier 2 team.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical and administrative responsibilities within Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
  • Participate in the on‑call/out‑of‑hours rota (1:10) as required.
  • Attend three consultant clinics per week, including case presentations and departmental audits.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day ward routines, including admission and discharge of patients in consultation with the consultant.
  • Supervise the first on‑call trainee and training of Specialty Trainees and Medical Students.
  • Attend ante‑natal and gynaecological outpatient clinics and perform theatre duties.
  • Undertake operating lists when indirectly supervised, commensurate with clinical capability and patient safety.
  • Participate in a regular teaching programme and pursue opportunities for career progression.

  • Qualified Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology or relevant specialty.
  • Strong clinical skills, experience with maternity and gynaecology care.
  • Excellent communication, teaching, and supervisory skills.
