Job summary

Qualifications

  • Experience of taking blood within a Primary Care setting.
  • Calm under pressure, efficient and organized.
  • IT confidence and customer/patient care experience.

Responsibilities

  • Complete clinical observations/investigations like dipstick urine, blood pressure, ECG.
  • Support GP with immunisations and wound care.
  • Prepare patients before consultations, taking history and readings.
  • Explain treatment procedures to patients.
  • Arrange appointments, referrals, and tests for patients.
  • Extract and code information from clinical letters.
  • Input data and conduct clinical searches.

Skills

Customer/patient care skills
IT confidence
Ability to compile and analyse statistical information
Experience working in primary care

Education

GCSE/NVQ level 2 or equivalent
Qualified in Phlebotomy
Qualified to NVQ level 3
