Job summary

A leading logistics firm in Portsmouth is seeking experienced Class 1 (C+E) Container Drivers for ongoing ad-hoc work with weekday and weekend shifts. Responsibilities include driving HGV container vehicles, delivering to docks, and maintaining communication with the transport team. Candidates must hold a Full UK Class 1 Licence, CPC card, and a valid DP World Card along with prior container experience. Competitive pay rates range from £16.50 to £24.75 per hour PAYE. Induction and training are provided.

The Best Connection is recruiting experienced Class 1 (C+E) Container Drivers for an established client based in Portsmouth. This is ongoing ad-hoc work with regular weekday shifts and weekend work available.

Location: Portsmouth

Hours: 06:00 - 17:00, Monday to Sunday availability

• Varying start times depending on route

Pay Rates: £16.50 - £24.75 p/h PAYE | £18.00 p/h Umbrella

The Role

• Driving a Class 1 (C+E) HGV container vehicle
• Delivering and collecting containers from docks and customer sites
• Entering and exiting ports and dock environments
• DP World dock work (certificate required)
• Completing vehicle checks and reporting any issues
• Maintaining good communication with the transport team

Requirements

• Full UK Class 1 (C+E) Licence
• CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Valid DP World Card
• Previous container and dock experience
• Good numeracy, literacy, and communication skills
