Overview

Civil Project Engineer – Location: Chorley

Salary: Competitive + benefits

We are seeking a motivated Civil Project Engineer to join a growing civil engineering consultancy, working across highways and drainage projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with UK-based design experience to develop their career within a supportive, multi-office team.

Role Overview
  • Work alongside Graduate Engineers, Technicians, Project Engineers, Chartered Engineers, and Directors across multiple offices.
  • Manage multiple highways and drainage projects simultaneously, ensuring quality deliverables and client satisfaction.
  • Produce detailed calculations, sketches, and technical drawings using AutoCAD, Site3D, and Causeway Flow (or equivalent).
  • Follow design standards including CIRIA guides, BRE Digest, BS EN 752, and adoptable standards S278, S38, S104.
  • Conduct site visits to verify construction compliance and prepare specifications and technical reports.
  • Support Directors in improving design services and operational efficiency.
About You
  • Minimum 3 years\' UK-based highways and drainage design experience.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Site3D, Causeway Flow or similar design software.
  • Strong understanding of adoptable highways and drainage standards (S278, S38, S104).
  • Commercial awareness and experience managing project budgets.
  • Confident communicator, capable of consulting with clients and project teams.
  • Self-motivated, driven, and committed to continuous learning.
Desirable
  • Working towards Chartered status.
  • Project management and leadership experience.
