Overview

Our client is an established and well-regarded multi-service law firm with a strong reputation throughout the Nottinghamshire region. The firm is known for delivering high-quality legal services across a broad range of practice areas and for maintaining a professional, supportive and collaborative working environment. Due to continued growth, the firm is now looking to recruit a Civil Litigation Solicitor to join its disputes team.

The firm undertakes a wide range of traditional civil litigation work for individuals and businesses, including commercial disputes and contentious probate matters, supported by long-standing client relationships across the region.

Position

The successful candidate will handle a varied caseload of traditional civil litigation matters, including contract disputes, debt recovery, landlord and tenant issues, boundary disputes, neighbour disputes and claims arising from the purchase and sale of goods. The role will also include exposure to commercial disputes and contentious probate work, offering a broad and interesting mix of litigation.

You will manage matters from initial instruction through to resolution, with an appropriate level of supervision depending on experience. The role will involve drafting a wide range of legal documents including correspondence, pleadings, witness statements and court applications, as well as conducting legal research and analysis. You will have regular and direct contact with clients, requiring a clear, pragmatic and client-focused approach, alongside interaction with counsel, experts and the courts. The position also includes preparing court bundles, managing deadlines and maintaining accurate and well-organised files.

Key Details

The successful candidate will join a well-established firm offering a supportive and flexible working environment. The firm provides a competitive salary and benefits package, including 21 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, an additional four days' leave during the Christmas office closure, and the option to purchase up to five additional days' holiday. Holiday entitlement increases after five years' service.

Further benefits include a pension scheme, free eye tests and eye care plan, free or discounted parking, and access to free legal services such as will writing and conveyancing. The firm also operates a discretionary flexible working policy and places strong emphasis on employee wellbeing and long-term retention.
