Astute’s Renewables Team is partnering with a specialist in large-scale ground-mount solar projects, providing integrated solutions covering design, manufacture, and installation services. We are recruiting a Civil Engineer to join their team based in Dorset.

Responsibilities and duties of the Civil Engineer role

Reporting to the Sales Director, you will:

  • Design and develop structural designs and solar framing projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Drive new product development initiatives, including design certification, while ensuring solutions are cost-effective and practical.
  • Plan, conduct, and oversee on-site geotechnical surveys. Providing timely, actionable reports to the Project Manager to confirm suitability.
  • Perform on-site axial load testing of driven pile products, interpreting results to select the most appropriate and reliable solutions.
  • Provide expert structural calculations for solar projects, supporting the design team with advanced engineering solutions.
  • Work closely with the design team to deliver innovative, efficient, and timely solutions across multiple projects.
Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Degree or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering.
  • Experienced in PV ground mount systems.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
